Itinerary Mauritania 10 days

Arrival and welcome by our team, installation in hotel.
Overnight in Casablue.

After breakfast departure for the city tour, we will visit the camel market then the goat market to chat with sellers and buyers, how their markets are conducted. Then we will stop at the Central Market where you can buy some souvenirs and taste local culinary specialties. Let’s continue to visit the Zeinart art gallery, very famous in Nouakchott. After a very good lunch we leave to visit the largest mosque in the city called the Saudi Mosque, continue our walk on the famous Fish Market, to observe the return of the fishermen and discover their booty and return to the hotel.
Overnight in Casablue.

After breakfast, departure for Azoueiga. We are on the Nouakchott / Atar road, a long ribbon of asphalt that goes up towards the desert. We pass through the mining town of Akjoujt. 20 km further we leave the road for 80 km of track. Arrival in Azoueiga early in the afternoon. We finish the trip with a walk of about an hour which takes us to the top of the large Azoueiga dune, from where we can admire the changing curves of the dunes in the late afternoon light.

After breakfast we crossing the Amatlich in its width, taking advantage of emerging plateaus. With luck, we will pass by dunes that “sing”. Lunch at the water’s edge, at the guelta of Azoueigua. Camp halfway up the dunes of Amatlich. Overnight in bivouac.

After breakfast we start our day with a morning walk of around 2 hours, along the Erg Amatlich and the Azoueiga oasis. Picnic at the Legleitat oasis, afternoon on the Ibi plateau. Magical bivouac on the Tifoujar pass. Superb view of the Blanche Valley Overnight in inns at the terjit source.

After breakfast departure for the oases on arrival we see many palm trees and the water that flows is naturally drinkable, it even comes out hot and cold in places. We make the complete tour of this magnificent place. After lunch we decide to try traditionally to get in the shade and even toilets and showers to relax.

After breakfast we start to walk from inter-dune valleys (teyaret) to descend into the Chinguitti wadi just before the beautiful palm grove of Ntkemekemt, which stands north of abweir, “small well”, very symbolic place where the buried ruins of the first town of Chinguitti are located . Arrival visit to one of the largest ancient libraries in Chinguitti, the mosque and the ruins around we will also visit the old town, after a short walk with the camels which allows you to approach the dromedaries and see the life of the camel driver in a camel or Chinguetti Tour during a few picnics in the desert plain. Overnight in Auberge.

After breakfast departure to Tanouchert a very beautiful oasis located halfway between Ouadane and Chinguetti. Its large palm trees provide appreciable shade for travelers. across an immense plateau of ocher sand to the small oasis of Tanouchert where the cultivation of dates constitutes the main source of income for local families. Arrival and installation. Overnight in Auberge at the Tanouchert palm grove.

After breakfast we head towards Ouadane formerly called Iwaden (Berber name), deformed into Ouadane in Arabic which means: the two wadis (the wadi of science which is the city, and the wadi of dates which is the valley ). This fortified city remains a formidable ancient city in Mauritania, founded in the 11th century and listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. It remains a city steeped in history and impresses all travelers who set foot in the Adrar region. The old part of the district overlooks a hill and attracts attention with its magnificent ruins. » Passing through the Ebnou pass, a small detour to the left allowing us to enjoy the Amogjar pass and the ruins of Fort Saganne. For 2.5 hours arrival in Ouadane, lunch there, visit of the old town, and afternoon return to Azougui, site of the Almoravids who conquered Spain.

After breakfast we leave Ouadane by the sands visiting Atar. Continuation to Nouakchott ,arrival visit the fish market then installation in hotel casablue.
After dinner transfer to the airport
