Today depart to Ouidah, with a stopover at Ganvie. A village on stilts spread across Lake Nokoue and inhabited by a population of about 25,000 people. The ancestors of the Tofinu people who now live in this village created the settlement in the 16th century to escape being captured by the Dahomey army to be sold as slaves to the Portuguese. After we continus to Ouidah the spiritual capital of Benin. We go round the city and by chance we could witness voodoo performance. You arrive at hotel and accommodation.

Breakfast, early morning and we go to the voodoo festival place if possible organize traditional ceremony with our local guide. Voodoo is a traditional religion and people in Benin are still attached to this religion so that the 10 th of January is declared voodoo celebration day. You will see voodoo priests and priestesses, voodoo adepts chanting, dancing and worshiping their gods. It’s an event that happens once a year. Meet the local people and visit the fetish market.
